Patio season is upon us and with this recent heat wave enjoying a drink outside is just about all we can think about! Port Dalhousie is home to many bars and patios perfect for relaxing with a cold one, and to kick off our Local Life Guide series we’re starting with the last remaining patio bar in Hogan’s Alley.
The Alley Beach Bar & Grog House is located in Hogan’s Alley just beside the Local Life. The Alley opened in July 2016, after owner Jeff Mackie decided to further his impact in Port Dalhousie by investing more into the commercial core. Previously, he had been involved in local community action groups, including the Port Dalhousie Beautification and Works Committee, and the Port Dalhousie Renaissance Committee.
This small patio bar was designed to pay homage to the bars that once lined Hogan’s Alley. Jeff explained that he wanted people to feel as if they stepped into a Key West style patio, but still make it their own little vacation bar in the city. The Alley has a nostalgic and homey feel to it as it highlights what the nightlife used to be like in the Port Dalhousie area.
Featuring live music 5 nights a week, as well as a great selection of craft beer, the Alley is the perfect place to kick back, relax, and have a good time with friends! You can find links to all the Alley’s social media below so you can keep up to date with all the events happening!
